The Pretty Parasites Tarot guide
Queen of Wands
Court of Root Fire

Orobanchaceae, the broomrape family: broomrapes, witchweeds, louseworts and kin
Orobanchaceae is the great root-parasite radiation: within one family, species run the full spectrum from green hemiparasites that merely tip the host's water to wholly leafless holoparasites that drink everything and make nothing. It is the family that produced this suit's Ace (Striga), Eight (Conopholis), and Page (Orobanche) — a dynasty, not a single bloom.
The Queen is not a plant; she is a doctrine. Somewhere in the deep history of this family, an ordinary green herb discovered that a root could be a mouth, and the discovery proved so good that her descendants repeated it on every continent, in every shade from half-honest green to full violet abdication. That is what a Queen of Wands is: a principle that has had time to become a lineage. She does not spark, she governs — her throne is the accumulated decision, made species by species, that taking fire is a way of life and not a crime of opportunity.
The opportunity in this card is authority that comes from depth rather than display: you have been at this long enough that your strategy has descendants — students, imitators, systems that run without your hand on them. The risk is the dynasty's blind spot: a court that only speaks one chemistry. The family that perfected one mouth can miss that the meadow is changing; doctrine ages into dogma precisely when it is winning. Rule your root fire, but keep one green leaf of doubt.
Scene: a subterranean court — dozens of root-mouths glowing like small hearths along the roots of a meadow, one largest hearth violet-crowned at the center.
Prompt: What strategy of yours has already reproduced — who is living inside your example? Write them one piece of advice the doctrine won't say out loud.
